Roubaix secures planning for Premier Inn at Fareham

Roubaix Group has secured planning consent for a new 84-bedroom Premier Inn hotel at Fareham shopping centre. The new hotel, which has been pre-let to Premier Inn on a new 25-year lease, will be built on top of existing retail units facing Osborn Road – bedrooms will be arranged over three upper storeys with restaurant and reception space between the upper accommodation levels and the ground floor retail.

A new hotel in the town centre complements the Council’s vision to grow the evening and leisure economy – as well as being a core part of Roubaix’s ambition for the shopping centre which it purchased in 2015.

Roubaix managing director Chris Beckerman said: “This is great news for Fareham and paves the way for valuable investment into the shopping centre and the town as a whole. The scheme also demonstrates our capability to purchase good quality assets and release added value through effective asset management. This is an excellent example of what Roubaix is good at and we’re looking forward to continuing our investment plans into the town.”

The project team included: Corstorphine + Wright (Architect), Cushman & Wakefield (Planning), and Projex Solutions (Project Management).
