Six new deals for the Liberty Romford

Six retailers have signed new leases or lease renewals with Cosgrave Property Group at the 110-unit Liberty Romford including Boots which has taken a further 10-year lease on its 25,000-sq ft store and Next which has agreed a further five-year lease on its 16,500-sq ft store.

In a relocation from the adjacent Mercury Mall, Vision Express is taking a new 10-year lease for the 1,802-sq ft Unit N3 while Holland & Barrett has relocated from The Liberty’s Laurie Walk mall to a 2,723-sq ft unit adjoining Vision Express. 3 UK, the mobile phone operator, has taken a 10-year lease on the 2,445-sq ft Unit F6, while Krispy Kreme has taken a new five-year lease on Kiosk Unit 21.

Zone A Rents in The Liberty Romford average nearly £200 per sq ft. The centre is anchored by H&M, Next, Boots, WH Smith, River Island, Topshop/Topman with SuperDry, Virgin Media and Footlocker also among the extensive line-up.

Ronan Rooney, head of commercial property for Cosgrave Property Group said: “The Liberty’s attraction for major brands remains robust because it is a heart-of-town centre with a substantial regional draw. Annual footfall is nearly 20 million for The Liberty and Romford itself has been at the forefront of business and residential growth. With the anticipated arrival of Crossrail in 2019 that significant growth is likely to continue.”
