Oak Furniture Land completes Fife line-up

Hammerson’s £10m Fife Central redevelopment will be 100 per cent let on opening after Oak Furniture Land signed a pre-letting on a 10,000-sq ft unit for its first store in Fife. Oak Furniture Land will join leading retail brands including Sofology, Wren Kitchens and DW Sports, all of which also marked firsts for their brands in Fife and are due to open this summer.

The signing marks the completion of the 85,000-sq ft redevelopment, which replaced a vacant Homebase unit with new contemporary fully glazed retail units. As Fife’s largest retail park, the new stores will be well placed to benefit from trading alongside a diverse range of brands such as Sainsbury’s, Next, M&S Simply Food, B&Q, Toys ‘R’ Us and Boots.

At the same time Hammerson has let a newly-built unit at Abbotsinch retail park in Paisley to upholstery design and retail brand Fabb Sofas. Launched by DFS founder Lord Kirkham in 2016, Fabb Sofas has already opened six UK stores, and the store in Paisley will be only the second in Scotland and the first outside of Edinburgh.

Work on the new 20,000-sq ft unit will begin on site in June, and will complete in the autumn of this year, in time for a store opening before Christmas. Fabb Sofas will be joining a strong line-up of homeware retailers at Abbotsinch Retail Park, including B&Q, Wren, ScS, Dunelm, DFS, Tapi and Oak Furniture Land.
