Derby City Council and intu have exchanged contracts for the purchase of Eagle Market. intu aims to revitalise the scheme and return it to its place as one of the UK’s most successful indoor markets as part of a three year plan. The plan will maintain the ‘heart and character’ of Derby’s celebrated market whilst improving its traditional features.

The management team at intu Derby will work alongside market management company, WMC to lead this new chapter once the transaction is complete.  WMC brings experience and expertise from its work operating a number of markets around the country, including London's Spitalfields, Watford and Luton.

Adam Tamsett, general manager at intu Derby, said, “We’re looking forward to injecting new life into the market, creating a place for people to shop, eat and relax in whilst supporting existing traders and attracting new ones.”
