196-room hotel to be built over shopping centre

Hilton plans to introduce its flagship Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand to the affluent Surrey town of Woking, with the signing of a management agreement with Bandstand Square Developments, the JV between Moyallen and Woking Council that owns the town’s shopping centre.

The new high-rise hotel, located within the new Victoria Square retail and residential development at the junction of Victoria Way and Church Street West, will play an integral role in Woking’s town centre regeneration. It will feature 196 guest rooms, including 12 suites, and is due to open in early 2021.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, Hilton’s senior vice president, development, EMEA, said: “Woking is undergoing a major transformation, with an estimated £500m committed in the next five years. This ambitious regeneration – together with the town’s fantastic connectivity to central London and its main airports – makes it a prestigious location in which to introduce our flagship brand.”

The landlord was advised by JLL Hotels and Hospitality Group.
