Upgrade and extension approved for Brookfield shopping park
Global Real Assets and JP Morgan have secured unanimous planning consent for the refurbishment of Brookfield shopping park near Cheshunt, north London, one of the UK’s top performing retail parks.
Designed by The Harris Partnership, plans for the 125,000-sq ft park include an extension to the northern terrace taking the overall park area to over 150,000 sq ft and with increased glazing across the retail frontage and increased mezzanine cover throughout the park.
Located three miles north of junction 25 of the M25, adjacent to the A10 London to Cambridge, Brookfield Shopping Park is second in the top 10 UK retail parks by rental value according to data from Trevor Woods Associates ‘Definitive Guide to Retail & Leisure Parks 2016’. The park has open A1 planning with tenants including Outfit, Next, Boots, River Island, Argos and New Look.
The scheme is the first for the new London office of Wakefield-based architects, The Harris Partnership.
