Hines-led consortium wins consent for 22,000-sq m extension
Planning permission has been granted for a 22,000 sq m development at Liffey Valley shopping centre to the west of Dublin city centre, which will include a new civic plaza and a 2,500 seat Olympic-sized indoor ice arena. However South Dublin County Council refused consent for a proposed 1,800-space multi-storey car park which formed parts of the plans.
The US architects RTKL were selected for the project in an architectural competition. The proposed extension is designed to meet increased retail demand in the Dublin region over the next five years as well as increasing dwell time by adding to Liffey Valley’s leisure and catering offer.
Liffey Valley is owned by clients of HSBC Private Bank, Grosvenor Britain & Ireland and Hines Ireland.
