Snow joke as sledging slides into Wakefield
Published: 04 August, 2016
Trinity Walk teamed up with Snozone from Xscape Yorkshire to create a 10 metre real snow sledging run
Shoppers in Wakefield were playing it cool today after 50 tonnes of real snow arrived. There were more thrills and spills thanks to a snowboard simulator too. The free event was to celebrate Trinity Walk’s fifth birthday after welcoming more than 50million shoppers in five years.
Cormac Hamilton, Trinity Walk centre manager, said: “This was something no-one expected to see in the height of summer and just watching the smiles on the kids’ faces made it all worthwhile. We wanted to celebrate by offering something free and different”
More events are planned including a Guinness World Record attempt on Sunday August 7 to earn the record for largest gathering of people dressed as a princess.
