Mallcomm to revolutionise communications at East Kilbride shopping centre
East Kilbride shopping centre, the largest shopping centre in Scotland and one of the UK’s top 20, is the latest shopping centre to implement Toolbox Group’s communication platform, Mallcomm. The centre launched the app, which is already in use by some of the leading shopping centres in Europe, in April 2015.
The Orion Capital Partners owned scheme has 175 retail, leisure, and catering outlets as well as an ice skating rink and a cinema. Centre director Ian McLelland said: “Mallcomm offers us the opportunity to streamline the cost and efficiency of our communications. As with any scheme, communication is a challenge, therefore, we are always on the lookout for new products and tools that can assist with our operations. Mallcomm offers a way to communicate directly to our team, retailers and their teams in a cost effective way that ensures we can measure ROI .”
Mallcomm, a product of Toolbox Group and initially developed in 2011, has been designed to transform retailer relations and operational mall management. It is currently used in six countries across Europe and has proven to increase retailer engagement and retailer participation and has been fundamental in initiating the capture of retailer sales data.
David Fuller, group digital director at the Toolbox Group, added: “We understand that one of the biggest challenges shopping centre management teams face is engaging their retailers and open two-way communication channels that are incredibly hard to initiate and then maintain. We constantly develop Mallcomm to make enhancements that retailers want, such as the inclusion of footfall and sales data, integrating into security and facilities systems and creating internal loyalty and job vacancy platforms. Mallcomm has evolved into an engaging and dynamic communication platform which gives shopping centres a tool that not only keeps retailers up to date with the latest information, but also enables them to do their jobs more easily and efficiently.”
