Victoria Place celebrates £16m re-launch

Victoria Place, the retail, leisure and dining centre at London’s Victoria train station, has celebrated a £16m re-launch.

The redevelopment has attracted a host of new brands including Dutch chain Hema, Joy, Ed’s Easy Diner, Café Rouge and The French Pizza Company, with more stores expected to open by Q1 2015.

The official launch is the culmination of a new strategy for the centre, which aims to offer visitors the best of retail and dining in a transport environment, and links in with Network Rail Property’s aim to make all of their managed stations destinations in their own right.

Hamish Kiernan, commercial director of retail, Network Rail Property, said the redevelopment captures the changing needs of the modern traveller creating a better environment to travel, shop, meet and eat.

“We’ve had huge success with similar developments at King’s Cross, Manchester Piccadilly and Waterloo where, by delivering the right brands in the right formats in the right place, we are changing perceptions of what modern railway stations can provide.

“This redevelopment is part of Victoria Place’s ongoing commitment to respond to the changing needs of shoppers visiting Victoria station, whether they are travelling through or coming here for a destination shopping or dining experience.

“Following our £16m rebrand, customers will be offered more choice with an extended selection of brands and eateries joining our current stable of tenants, whilst cementing the reputation of Victoria Place within the retail sector.”
