Six-ton sand sculpture leads social media campaign at Bluewater

Luxury Dubai resort Atlantis, The Palm has launched its UK marketing campaign with a six ton sand sculpture at Bluewater.

Starting from May 16 for three weeks, visitors to Bluewater will be encouraged to get creative and take numerous ‘selfies’ next to the Atlantis sand sculpture in the popular mall. Shoppers can then enter the competition by posting their artistic snapshots using the tag #AtlantisSelfie on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, to be in with a chance to win an exclusive holiday at Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai.

The competition was launched by Alexandra Burke, who took her own ‘selfie’ with the sand sculpture at Bluewater on May 18. The competition closes on June 5 at 9pm GMT, and the winner with the best ‘selfie’ will be announced on Atlantis, The Palm’s social media channels on June 9 2014.

The intricate sand sculpture, using six tons of sand used to create an exact scaled replica of the flagship resort, was built in five days by Mark Anderson and his team at Sculptures in Sand.
