Christmas market draws MediaCity crowds to Lowry Outlet
Peel Outlets’ Lowry Outlet brought the spirit of a traditional Victorian Christmas to MediaCityUK in December, with its annual Victorian Christmas Market. As a result of more stalls, added entertainment and continued strategic targeted marketing, this seasonal spectacular resulted in increased sales and footfall figures year-on-year.
Over the festive four-day period, performance figures were at an all time high, as footfall was up by 19 per cent and sales were up 11 per cent YOY. Individual category performances reported a huge YOY rise, with sales in accessories up by 21 per cent; leisure 20 per cent; homeware 9 per cent and ladieswear 8 per cent compared to the Victorian Christmas Market in 2012.
Centre manager Helen Anderton said: “We are extremely proud of the success of the Victorian Christmas Market and it is very encouraging that we had a huge increase in visitor numbers and sales over the four days it was here. We are very much looking forward to 2014, with an increased programme of large-scale events in the MediaCityUK area to support our tenants”.
