Princes Mall relaunched as Waverley Mall

A new dawn is coming to Waverley Mall, Edinburgh, after its £4m refurbishment and re-brand that is set to launch later this month. Formerly Princes Mall, the 84,000-sq ft centre located next to Waverley Station in the heart of the city, has had its ceilings restructured as well as new signage throughout giving the mall the sleek and modern image that owners, Catalyst Capital, wanted to achieve from the rebrand.

The well connected centre wanted to bring the 22.6 million annual rail passengers that travel through Edinburgh Waverley station a year, into the mall. The centre has seen a 20 per cent uplift in footfall already year on year and the rebrand aimed to highlight the centre’s close link to the station and arrival and departure screens have been installed in the food court meaning visitors can now be kept up to date with travel information, while waiting for their train.

Waverley Mall has welcomed a number of high profile new tenants including Zumo, Chopstix, Pizza Mafia, Sainsbury’s, Greggs, Game, Sushi Stop and the Post Office, over the past 18 months as well as a rebrand for the long standing tenant Stop!

Centre manager Martin Botha said: “Waverley Mall is positioned in such a unique location, situated in the middle of a very busy transport hub and we are very keen to attract those visitors into our centre to show them our much improved overall offer. The food court in particular has been transformed into a bright and relaxing space boasting an array of new eateries and I am excited to unveil our hard work.”
