Record year for Trinity Walk

Published:  03 February, 2016

Trinity Walk shopping centre in Wakefield has celebrated a record year.

The centre surpassed its footfall record in 2015 after seeing over 11m shopping visits throughout last year, up 4 per cent on 2014. It also had its busiest ever week after welcoming around 289,000 shoppers during a seven-day period in December. And it was the best performing mall in managing agents Savills’ UK portfolio of shopping centres in December.

The centre is also at its highest occupancy since opening in 2011, with two units available to let. Recent lettings include Pandora, The Works, PureGym, and office operator Regus.

Cormac Hamilton, centre manager at Trinity Walk, said: “The centre is now at its highest occupancy in its history with an even more diverse and dynamic mix of retailers on offer for shoppers, which has been a key draw. People are still discovering the centre and most new shoppers say they would return, which gives us scope to grow even further in our fifth year. We’re delighted with how well 2015 has gone, but won’t rest on our laurels as we aim to maintain and build on this great platform.”

Trinity Walk is set to celebrate its fifth birthday in May 2016.
