Go-ahead for retail-led regeneration scheme in Crayford

Works commence this month on the 31,300-sq ft retail-led regeneration of a derelict site on Roman Way in the heart of Crayford town centre, South East London, following planning consent secured in 2015.

Led by a new 18,200-sq ft Aldi food store, the development additionally proposes three new build units of 5,500, 5,000 and 3,000 sq ft respectively, contained within a single building, scheduled for A1/A2/A3 retail use. The scheme also includes 157 parking spaces.

Designed by the Reading office of architects The Harris Partnership for Aldi Stores, the scheme has a projected completion date of November 2016 and will sit adjacent to Tower Retail Park, one of the most popular retail areas in South East London.

The site will be directly accessible from the A207, the principal road between Bexley and Dartford.
