Intu launches annual student campaign

Special events set to attract over 100,000 students to intu centres across the UK

intu will be opening the doors of 14 of its centres to more than 100,000 students for ‘one night only’ events during a three-week period coinciding with Freshers’ Week at many colleges and universities.

Local students, especially those newly moving to an area, are important potential customers for many brands, retailers and restaurant chains. Through events such as Student Night, these businesses can appeal to the young adult population that is often challenging to reach. Nottingham, for example, has the second highest percentage in the UK of 16-24 year olds in its population and almost a quarter of the 24 million footfall throughout the year to that city’s intu Victoria Centre fall in this age range.

As well as all the activities, attraction and events organised by intu, hundreds of retailers and restaurants join in, with staff dressed up for the evening, in-store DJs, promotions and competitions in a party atmosphere. In addition to providing a great opportunity to make their money stretch further, visitors to Student Night events will also experience intu’s signature hospitality and great attractions alongside big names such as 02, Desperados, STA Travel and Cocio.
