Five brands totalling more than 7,700 sq ft have signed for new stores so far this year at Woking Shopping
Millets, the outdoors and leisure specialists, has chosen the Peacocks in Woking for a new 2,086- sq ft store. In Wolsey Place, Vision Express and Rush Hair and Beauty are upsizing into 2,640-sq ft and 1,657-sq ft stores respectively. Vision Express’s new store is adjacent to The Entertainer, which opened last year, and Rush is relocating alongside Pret and Paperchase.
Completing the line-up of new brands are Grill and Go, with a 770-sq ft kiosk, and Chopstix, with a 620-sq ft noodle bar, both opening alongside one another in the Peacocks Place, the lower level foodcourt.
Tim Buckley of Moyallen, joint owner with Woking borough Council, said: “The upsized stores for Vision Express and Rush highlight how successfully brands perform here, which was also reflected byTopshop’s upsize in Wolsey Place last year.
The news follows the submission of a planning application in January to create to the Victoria Square development, which includes 125,000 sq ft of new retail floor space anchored by a 60,000 sq ft Marks & Spencer; a 190 bed four star hotel with conference facilities, spa and gym in a 21 storey tower; 392 residential apartments in two towers of 28 and 34 storeys; space for a medical centre; 380 additional car parking spaces, and two new public plazas.
