Cos selects Bentall Centre for expansion

The Bentall Centre in Kingston has secured international clothing brand Cos.

Cos will take 6,600 sq ft of retail space on the first floor of the centre and is set to open in the autumn.

The fashion brand plans to open three more stores this year – in the King’s Road and Canary Wharf as well as in the Bentall Centre - adding to its London portfolio of seven stores.

Chris Paterson, director of in-town retail at Aviva Investors said: “Securing a top international brand such as Cos is a testament to the success of our asset management at the Bentall Centre. It will strengthen the appeal of the centre even further, consolidating it as a thriving, in demand, retail destination.”

Mark Gamble, head of asset management of Meyer Bergman, added: “We are extremely thrilled that Cos has chosen the Bentall Centre for its continued UK expansion. Cos will make an excellent addition to our offer at the Bentall Centre and create yet another reason for customers in the local area and further afield to come and visit us.”

The Bentall Centre is currently undertaking a £3.25m refurbishment programme to transform its Clarence Street entrance and create additional retail and food space due to finish at the end of October. The refurbishment project has already helped to secure a new lease on a larger store for Fat Face, and YO! Sushi has announced that it will open a new restaurant at the end of the year within the newly created space at first floor.
