Cumbernauld centre signs Card Factory, Cost and Carphone Warehouse

The Antonine Centre is defying the economic chill by securing four new tenants. Card Factory has taken a five-year lease on a 2,337-sq ft store in the centre which was formerly occupied by Birthdays. Carphone Warehouse is continuing its Scottish expansion with a new 1,594-sq ft store which it has taken on a 10-year lease.

Meanwhile Costa has opened its second café in the centre. The café, which has seating for 90 customers, has been taken on 10-year lease. And newsagent St Enoch News has signed a 10-year lease on a 1,270-sq ft unit.

Zoe Perreur-Lloyd, senior asset manager at London & Regional Properties, said: “The management team has been working hard to provide a lively and welcoming environment for retailers and shoppers alike. Footfall has continued to rise thanks to great high street names like Next and River Island together with a busy programme of events which has helped to make the centre a real focus for the local community.”

The Antonine Centre opened in 2007 and has 42 shops in 350,000 square feet of retail space and 1,000 parking spaces. Tenants include TK Maxx, Dunnes, Boots and Dorothy Perkins. Cushman & Wakefield and Gunn Property Consultants are letting agents.
