LXB unlocks Sutton site

LXB is preparing a detailed planning application for the retail-led regeneration of the northern end of Sutton high street in south-west London.
The six acre site currently house empty offices, warehousing and gas holders. LXB’s plans will see it transformed into an ambitious regeneration project incorporating a 116,000- sq ft Sainsbury's foodstore, a 120-bed hotel for Accor and 150 residential units, as well as 20,000 sq ft of leisure facilities.
The Harris Partnership is advising LXB and managing director Mike Schorah said: "Part of our remit has involved providing a masterplan to inform a development brief for the council, as well as conducting a significant public consultation exercise. The feedback from potential stakeholders, the general public and business and community groups has been very positive. This scheme will provide a major boost to Sutton town centre, create jobs and improve the aesthetics of a key site. "
