The Kooples opens flagship store at McArthurGlen York

Parisian brand The Kooples is to open a flagship outlet store at McArthurGlen’s York Designer Outlet on 21 December, in its first venture into the designer outlet retail market.

The Kooples' new 1,286 sq ft store will be positioned alongside Aquascutum, Gieves and Hawkes and LK Bennett.

Henrik Madsen, managing director of Northern Europe, said: “The arrival of The Kooples at McArthurGlen demonstrates how a wide spectrum of brands, even those who are in their infancy, are embracing the designer outlet model, and making outlet a key part of their overall sales strategy. Our McArthurGlen centres are home to luxury, premium, as well as high street brands, all at up to 60 per cent less all year-round. With designer outlets offering such a strong proposition and being such a hit with shoppers, the future for the sector is looking extremely bright.”

Founded by in 2008 in Paris by three French brothers, The Kooples has been a firm favourite with the fashion set since its inception. Many of the brand’s collections, which are characterised by clean cut, slim fitting staples with a unisex appeal, will be available at the new store.

The Kooples follow in the footsteps of other premium fashion brands which have this year opened stores across McArthurGlen’s seven UK centres in Ashford, Bridgend, Cheshire Oaks, East Midlands, Livingston, Swindon and York such as Superdry, Jaeger, Kurt Geiger.
