Flash Mob at McArthurGlen York

Published:  14 February, 2011

McArthurGlen’s York Designer Outlet was transformed into a musical extravaganza on Saturday as Rock Choir – a contemporary choir, singing feel good rock, pop, gospel and Motown songs - descended into the centre with an impromptu pop-up performance.

The flash mob was part of the official launch of Rock Choir in Yorkshire, and was filmed by ITV as part of a documentary on the singing group due to air this summer.

Over 70 incognito Rock Choir members burst into song, with the Motown classic ‘Dancing in the Street’, originally by Martha and the Vandellas, while performing high energy choreographed dance routines.

Sally Gilbank, marketing manager at McArthurGlen York said: “We were thrilled to host Rock Choir the Rock Choir pop-up performance at the centre, and help to support the launch of the singing group in Yorkshire. Many of our hundreds of shoppers commented on how much they enjoyed the entertainment - it gave our customers something extra to enjoy while out shopping.”
