Next to relocate to Forum Centre in Stevenage

Published:  17 June, 2010

CBRE Investors has combined three existing shops in its Forum Shopping Centre in Stevenage to create a new 16,000-sq ft unit for Next.

CBRE Investors took vacant possession of two units, which were previously occupied by the Goodwill Trust (which closed three years ago) and The Entertainer (whose lease ended in January 2010). It negotiated a surrender with Dolland & Aitchison following its purchase by Boots Opticians, which will keep an existing shop in the town centre.

The gross internal ground floor area of the combined unit is 12,000 sq ft and Next is to build a mezzanine trading floor. The deal is part of an ongoing asset management programme being undertaken by CBRE Investors, and it allows Next to maintain its presence in the town centre, relocating from its current unit in Queensway. The 88,400 sq ft Forum Shopping Centre is located at the edge of the town centre and tenants include TK Maxx, JJB Sports, HMV, Sports Direct and Waterstones.
CBRE Investors was represented by Green & Partners and Chase & Partners.
